About

Thomas J Powell

My entrepreneurial career in banking and finance began in 1988 in Silicon Valley and has spanned over three and a half decades, during which time I have developed extensive expertise in private equity, commercial banking, alternative asset management, and asset protection. As a Senior Advisor at Brehon Strategies since 2008, I have guided clients in achieving their strategic goals through my high level of creativity, expert advice, and guidance.

I hold dual citizenship in the European Union and the United States, which enables me to navigate the complexities of international business. In addition, I am highly creative and proficient in modeling asset protection measures through proven strategies, ensuring clients can safeguard their wealth while navigating complex business and legal environments. My extensive experience in banking and thorough knowledge of federal and state securities laws, compliance, and negotiations complement my background in raising capital for early-stage startups, foreign direct investment, and the financial structuring of large projects.

I hold an MBA, have completed graduate studies in international development at Harvard University, and earned a degree from the Pritzker School of Law. I am pursuing a Doctor of Law and Policy at Northeastern University, focusing on the global epidemic of middle-income workforce housing (MIWH) shortages in rural resort communities. In addition, as an international lecturer, I share my insights and knowledge with audiences worldwide as a go-to resource for entrepreneurs across various industries.

I am deeply committed to community service and have been involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for over 45 years in various capacities, from being a Club Kid to serving on the National Board of Trustees. At The Brehon Group, I combine my extensive experience with the firm’s unique blend of boutique consulting services and public policy think tank expertise to positively impact the global business community.

I am excited to connect with fellow professionals who share my passion for business, philanthropy, and finding sustainable solutions to critical issues like middle-income workforce housing shortages in rural resort communities.
